One Box Challenge is a charitable organization that supports Iowa City area nonprofits. Each month, we ask members of the community to add one box or one item to their shopping list and those items are donated to local charities. We choose a new charity to support each month.
November's challenge will consist of two challenges since these are especially trying times. We ask for cooking oil, dried lentils, dried beans, and flour to help with the uncertainty and stress revolving access to food. In addition, our original challenge was going to be craft kids for kids. Kits can be premade like those found on Amazon or purchased at Ollies or Target or other places locally. Kits like bracelet making, pottery painting, slime making, wooden cars, wind chimes, etc. OR they can be kits you assemble. You can get small baskets, boxes or bags at the Dollar store and fill them with things like crayons, markers, coloring books, water colors, special paper, stickers, clay, play dough, etc. HOWEVER, we are ALSO asking for some food staples. We want to distribute to Healing Prairie Farm, Open Heartland, CommUnity Crisis Center, and others
